La Familia Asprilla Weeks Lankenau!

We went in for our integration meeting today and they explained to us that now is the time to stop being on vacation and start acting like a family in normal life. Funny, I thought that's what we had been doing since the girls arrived in NYC December 4! But even so, it did feel like a really important day. We were given legal custody of the girls, and as far as they are concerned, today was the day we changed from being "padrinos" to "papitos" (godparents to parents) -- although the adoption decree is several weeks away, in their minds we are now officially a family. Manuela treated us to ice cream after, we toasted at dinner with gaseosa (soda) for them and white wine for us, and they officially named us "La Familia Asprilla Weeks Lankenau"!

We are all tired after a long day -- camp this morning for the girls, then the meeting took much of the afternon, and then dinner and now to bed!
