Seaside Heights with Amy & Abby

Doing this post in November is bittersweet as everything in the pictures is now probably washed away or waterlogged since Sandy! But, we did have a wonderful time and would love to return someday.

The girls enjoyed the beach and the bay:

We also spent time hanging out at the apartment we rented, only 2 blocks from the beach, and on a rainy day we made it to the only local museum, which turned out to be a Bug Museum.

Finally, there were the rides, and the other attractions of the boardwalk, including henna tattoos!

Time in Tivoli

As we did last year, I took the girls to Tivoli for a week while Chris went back to work. They did a morning pottery "camp" with Apple and Milli, which they really enjoyed. And of course along with camp comes playdates and sleepovers!

Gigi and Grand-dad put on such a nice party for my 45th birthday and (my niece) Daphne's 1st. And it was a wonderful surprise to have Chris come up from the city mid-week to help us celebrate!

We finished our week in Tivoli with a visit to the Dutchess County Fair with Apple and Milli! The girls were fascinated this year by the Talent Tent, which spared me and Katie lots of standing around in the hot sun watching them go on the rides or throw money at the prize booths. We ended the day at a concert put on by a group that had entirely recycled instruments, did lots of dancing and rapping, and overall was extremely loud. But again, we were in the shade and seated, so we couldn't complain.

A week in Maine

We had a great time visiting Maine along with Grandpa Jack and Grandma Deb, the Gosas and Brian and Marykate.

We enjoyed Old Orchard Beach and went to a clambake restaurant nearby with all the local Weeks/Phinney (Grandpa Jack's sister) aunts, uncles and cousins.

We also made it up to Limerick to see the Carrolls (Papi and Aunt Kathy's mom's family) who hosted a delicious barbecue at the farm for us and more aunts, uncles and cousins!

We also had a great barbecue with the Weeks/Phinney clan. Among other highlights, Wendy got to handle a live lobster!
