Christmas Pageant, Turtleback Zoo Christmas Lights

Fer and Wendy enjoyed being in the Christmas pageant at our church -- Fer was an angel, and Wendy a shepherd, sort of. (The first part of the play did not hew strictly to the Biblical narrative, let's put it that way.)

We also had the chance to spend time with Brian and Joe, formerly Angel and Jose, who were hosted through Kidsave by their father Chandler in 2009. Wendy and Fer remember the boys quite well, and all four kids really seemed to enjoy re-connecting. Chandler had many twists and turns along the way as he worked to bring the boys home, but we are so thankful that it all finally worked out, and here they are! We took the boys to see the Christmas lights at the zoo. They were pretty game, though Brian finally asked, "Donde estan los animales?" (where are the animals?) I could imagine him thinking that this was a pretty poor excuse for a zoo, dark except for the holiday lights, and these little shapes in the back of some of the cages, barely distinguishable. Joe set himself the task of locating animals, so all we heard for the last part of the trip was, "Lo veo! lo veo!" (I see one! I see one!).
