We went to the Bronx Botanical Garden later on in the morning and enjoyed some treats from the Greenmarket, as well as a tram ride around the Garden. The girls loved the ride and having the chance to see "las flores" (flowers). We hope to go back and experience some of the special programs they have there -- it's an amazing place. But they were getting tired and it was time for lunch, so we stopped after the tram.
After some down time and another visit to the pool (and Wendy made amazing progress today, from only sitting on the side yesterday to spending the whole time today in the water on the stairs of the big pool and moving herself along the wall and under the railing!), we went down to Manhattan for pizza and playground time with Kate and Jim and Lucy (Cullen stopped by at the end after his baseball game).
When we got back home, there was just enough time for 15 minutes with Elmo (we're trying to help the kids learn English with Sesame Street) and then to bed. It was a great day and overall it's been wonderful since they arrived. The girls have been fabulous and seem to be adjusting really well. The only landmark Fernanda has mentioned is the Statue of Liberty, so we're going to visit there tomorrow.
Finally, thanks to all for all of the well wishes and positive responses -- they are so appreciated. We feel very blessed.
