Day 3, July 2: La Estatua de Libertad

I'm going to keep this one short -- but here are some Statue of Liberty pictures from today. We decided to take the girls since this is pretty much our only full day where both of us are free and in the city. Also, Fernanda kept talking about it -- we gather her English teacher in Colombia told them about the Statue of Liberty as a New York landmark. They seemed to enjoy the trip but they also got tired -- they slept all the way home in the car!

When we got back we rested some, did some more pool time, had tacos for dinner (a solid 10, and I might add Chris is greatly enjoying the changes so far in our daily menu!), and then played some card games. They asked to go for a walk so we went and spent a little time in the playground. We are going to Tivoli tomorrow -- Fernanda is very excited for "el campo" and has been asking to go since yesterday morning. :)

I hope to visit the Statue of Liberty again one day. My husband has seen her from the boat but never on the island. I think we'll wait now until the crowds die down a bit :-)
