We hit the road to Richmond with Matt and Christine to attend our cousin Matthew's wedding. It was at a plantation outside the city, Tuckahoe, where apparently Thomas Jefferson spent some of his childhood. The setting was beautiful and the couple very happy. It was pretty striking to see that the slave quarters were still there, or at least that buildings had been built on the foundations. Chris drove us down there at such speed that we arrived around lunch rather than mid-afternoon, and had the chance to meet up with Gigi and Grandad and also the groom's parents, Aunty Barbara and Uncle Larry, for a lovely outdoor lunch before getting ready for the ceremony. We didn't get any pictures at the ceremony, but we did immortalize ourselves on the trolley which took us to the event.
