Big news at the start of November: Fer skipped the rest of 8th grade and began 9th at a new school, Fusion Academy in Morristown! We are so proud of her for making this leap, which even included beginning to commute on her own by train.
For "no school November" (the week in our district where the teachers have 3 professional days in one week) Gigi and Grandad took the girls for a whirlwind overnight in New York, complete with shopping in Columbus Circle, dinner at Shake Shack, a special exhibit and lunch at the Whitney Museum, and Aladdin on Broadway. Pics below are from the Whitney, they were too busy at the other events enjoying themselves to take photos.
Yet another pancake run, this time back to PJ's Pancakes after sampling some other options in October. Here are the girls with a Princeton tiger:
As a pre-holiday service project, Wendy and her Girl Scout troop decorated bears to give as gifts to children in foster care:
And, we headed to Viriginia for Thanksgiving with the extended Weeks/Gosa family. Such fun and so much delicious food! The girls enjoyed down time with their cousins, we had an aunt-niece lunch outing, as well as a ladies' shopping trip, we got out for some nice walks, and overall had a great time together. Thanks to Kathy and Terrill for hosting!
We think we have (finally) figured out the best way to avoid 7 hour trips home from Virginia, which is, leave as early in the morning as we can manage. For the trip there on Wednesday, we left mid-morning and were there in 3 and a half hours. For the trip back, we hit the road at 7:30 a.m. and again didn't hit any traffic. Which meant we could get ready to welcome Gigi and Grandad for a lunch to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent!
