We ended the summer with a week in Tivoli. Fer and Wendy loved seeing the family there as well as having the chance to go to camp and spend time with friends.
Sailing camp was a great idea, but sadly the weather did not cooperate so it turned out to be more sitting than sailing. The one day we took off to get vacation HW and some errands done turned out to be the one windy day when true sailing would have been possible! We managed to console ourselves with a visit to the Tasty Freeze that afternoon.
It was lots of fun to attend cousin Daphne's birthday party:
But even more fun to celebrate the other August birthdays and learn what we have to look forward to in April!!

Camp FAWN at the Beach!
Another great week of summer -- Camp FAWN (Fer Abby Wendy Nia)! And of course the Moms (Amy, Cathy and Joyce).
So excited to get there!
The girls loved the sun, the surf, and the boardwalk.
Of course we had to take a little time for vacation HW:
And our last day was my birthday, which we celebrated in style!

Dreams Do Come True: 1D in Concert!
I think the pictures say it all! Fer had the time of her life. We have never seen her so happy for so long, it was pure joy.
(The girls are holding bears and letters that they had written to each member of One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer who were the opening act. They had utter faith that these items would find their way to the band members. When we got to the first level of security, the guards had no idea what they were talking about but after consulting with a manager who said there would be a bin for gifts, we were let through to the next checkpoint, where we were directed to this "bin" which turned out to be leaving them under a desk off to the side. They were still there when we left the concert, so not sure the boys ever got to see them . . . )

Camp Johnsonburg
Back to beloved Camp Johnsonburg, both girls attending with good friends from church. As always, the international (male) counselors are a huge source of interest, talked about for months to come. This year, an Irish counselor! With Fer's love of Niall (the Irish member of One Direction) this was too good to be true.
